It's all about the Stance

A great Master once told me, when I asked him how to get better at Kung Fu, to "show me a full horse stance." I did, he walked around me and looked at my stance, adjusted my feet slightly, and then said "good, now stay in that stance for a year and we will talk." Geeze, that's all I got from the Grandmaster? Stay in a stance for a year? I wanted to get something cool like the move that would disable my opponent with the touch of a finger or something, I was young, hungry and wanted more. Years later, when I was teaching, I found myself saying the same thing. In every sport you hear about stances, in football, coaches will adjust the stance of their players to make them more powerful, same in basketball, baseball, just about everything. The same holds true for Kung Fu. Get in a full horse stance (see your e-book for details) and get in it often, a good stance is a good start to excellence!
